ITIL V3 Overview

Incidents initiate a chain of processes: Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Release Management and Configuration Management (see following sections for details). The consistency that characterized the service support processes is largely missing in the service delivery books.

ITSM focuses upon providing a framework to structure IT-related activities and the interactions of IT technical personnel with business customers and users.
